We had all the ingredients for a successful Disney Wide Game Night. A drop of magic, a sparkle of fairy dust, and a downpour of rain…wait… that’s not one of them!
Unfortunately, not even the Fairy Godmother could save the Disney Wide Game night. Our arena became a mud run as the rain washed away the game’s participants and sent them back to their Units.
"There was a lake up to our ankles," said Rosie, Unit T039.
Despite the rain, some Scouts were able to make it into a fun experience. Tammi-May, Unit T039, explained how they initially took shelter under a gazebo near the arena but the gazebo kept trying to fly away! Instead of a wide game, the Scouts played tug of war between the gazebo and the wind! The Scouts won by standing there and holding down the fort. "Except me," said Tammi-May, "I was too short to help."
The Scouts still enjoyed their night, with Rosie (T039) telling us how some other Scouts were splashing water into the girls’ shoes, and Amelia (T039) claimed that they “still had fun making new friends while [they] tried to hold down the gazebo.”
Personally, I think Ashley (T039) had the best attitude, simply stating, “rain is just a mindset”. Very mindful of you, Ashley, very demure.
![With the magic of friendship and the power of teamwork, this group of Scouts managed to save the kingdom! Or at least the gazebo.](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/985d4a_8a9a59621ce241628640bc848e1630f9~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_980,h_653,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/985d4a_8a9a59621ce241628640bc848e1630f9~mv2.jpg)
